Individual Counseling
Before starting the counseling journey, many people spend time wondering if this is right for them. Should I go? What things do I need to work on? Can I figure it out on my own? What do you even do in counseling? One-on-one counseling (or individual counseling) is the space for it all. Individual counseling provides a safe, nonjudgemental, supportive environment for clients to work on whatever feels most important. Not sure what that is yet? That's what we are here for.
By the time many clients enter therapy, there is already an idea about what "isn't working." My job is to offer a space in which you process this, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and implement new ways of thinking, feeling, or behaving to ultimately feel better.
Some examples of topics that can be discussed in therapy are:
stress,
depression,
anxiety,
interpersonal relationships,
work or school,
romantic relationships,
decision making,
difficulty moving on from past experiences,
grief,
wanting more out of life,
intimacy or sex,
personal development,
trauma,
unfinished business or baggage,
addiction,
anger, and
codependency
